Hate to break it to you but you might be faced with a few tough decisions this week. Vivid is in full swing and there’s also a number of non-Vivid things kicking about town. Here's a few of this weeks highlights all wrapped up in one little page. Dive in.

 

THE JIM MITCHELLS + ROSA MARIA + SUN SAP (VIVID)- Leadbelly Newtown - $10 (Wednesday 31st May)

If you're in the mood for a little psychedelic adventure for the ears and eyes then this is the one for you. The mid-weeker will see Sydney band The Jim Mitchells take to the stage with support from Rosa Maria and Sun Sap. Vinyl all night long.

DONNY BENET + MOSSY (VIVID)- Oxford Art Factory - $15 (Thursday 1st June)

Get ready to party. This Thursday night Donny Benét will be shaking up the OAF with his infectious grooves and work out moves. Support comes from local fave Mossy. Let the synths prevail.

 

GOOD BOY + VACATIONS + SUNSCREEN (VIVID)- Hudson Ballroom - $5 (Thursday 1st June)

Fancy a rowdy night out do you? Then the I OH YOU x Vivid Party is going to sort you right out. Brisbane's Good Boy bring their laid-back rock vibes to Hudson Ballroom, the perfect combo for an intimate live show full of fun. Support comes from the wonderful Vacations and Sunscreen.

 

BUZZ KULL + MUSCLE MEMORY + PORCELAIN + AUTOSUGGEST (VIVID) - The Lair, The Metro - $10 (Friday 2nd June)

For your hit of weekly electronica, head to The Lair for the Signal Response Vivid showcase. Marc Dwyer aka Buzz Kull will take to the stage with support from various other Aussie electronic artists.

 

BILL CALLAHAN (VIVID) - Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House - $69 (Friday 2nd June)

We're mainly here to hero the beautiful local talent and convince you to go and see how good they are, IRL. However, Bill Callahan is about to melt the hearts of many with four shows at the Sydney Opera House and you should probably get on board with that too. 

 

B WISE + LIL SPACELY + ELIJAH YO - Blacktown Arts Centre - FREE WITH RSVP (Saturday 3rd June)

To all of you hip hop heroes, get down to Blacktown and support one v good initiative presented to us by FBi Radio. There'll be a showcase by some of Australia's best emerging hip hop talent aka B Wise, Lil Spacely and Elijah Yo. There's a Q&A too if you want to get some hot industry tips.
