VIDEO PREMIERE: Behind The Scenes Of David M. Western's Beautiful New Video For 'Gallery'
David M. Western is one of Melbourne’s most exciting new talents. There’s a nonchalance to his stunning folk-rock sound that leaves you wanting more. It’s down to earth, entirely effortless, and for such a stripped back sound, completely overflowing with depth. Today, we’re delighted to premiering the beautiful video for his latest single ‘Gallery’ - paired with a sneak peek gallery of the video shoot too.
Following on from 2018’s ‘Stepping On My Toes’, Western’s latest single is every bit as impressive as the last. If anything, ‘Gallery’ even further highlights his natural storytelling ability. With percussion in all the right places and such a unique vocal delivery – you really do become pretty hung up on the outcome. This is the type of music that leaves you hanging on, right until the very end.
Shot and directed by his manager Caitlin Reilly, the clever new clip sees Western in a studio, bathed in sunlight and surrounded by friends - very much on show. Western said of the track, “The idea behind the video was to have everyone sitting at the table drawing a picture of me, kind of acting as the metaphors I sing about in the song. Everyone has their own opinion of themselves and of others, so it was really cool to have that reflected in their drawings. It was also cool to have the real me sitting front and centre singing about how I didn’t want to be that person being judged.” Have a watch below and prepare to give your philosophical brains a nice little afternoon workout.
David M. Western officially launches ‘Gallery’ tonight (27th June) at The Gasometer. Treat yourselves.
